BLOG NUMBER 8: 7th April 2026
So here we are once again, meeting in this lovely space called The Blog of Mook. It has been a couple of months since I last posted and I have been keeping my head down, slowly writing the second mookey book, alongside some script work and also helping my mother with her own novel, The Mystery of Honeysuckle Cottage, which she has been writing for a while now. I am hoping to help her release it on Amazon in the next few months.
My mother used to write a lot as a teenager, she even got something published in a magazine somewhere I recall. Her own father was also a prolific writer, I still have a lot of his poems and ponderings, all unpublished. I often wonder if this passion was passed down from him to me, through my mother. My Grandfather's own story could make a movie in itself as he was the sole survivor of a plane crash, shot down during WW2. I hope one day that story will be told.
In other news, I have been considering recording The Book of Mook as an audiobook and am still searching for a decent soundproofed and affordable studio in which to do so. Even if I secure such a thing, I am unsure if my dulcit tones will be deemed acceptable by Audible, or indeed, society... but there is only one way to find out!
Finally, for those who have yet to read my novella set during The Book of Mook, The Legend of Zuluzog, I have finally found a way to make it completely free on Amazon, along with most other places offering Ebooks.
Thanks for reading and kind regards,
Philip Wyatt
