Mark Bartlett was certainly an enigma, along with many other mysterious things. Among these, he was undoubtably a master of storytelling.
His initial tales in The Book of Mook describe the beginnings of the world and its first two tribes; their eventually divide and an illicit love affair leading to the birthing of Fiffle, the first mookey to walk the Earth.
Along with these fantasy fables, The Book of Mook describes the true story of the authors time spent in Marks company. As he writes down Mark's words, he tries to get to know and understand the man behind the mookeys. Is he making the stories up or, as he claims, is he receiving them into his brain from another realm?
